Citrix Quick Launch

If like myself, you were aghast when Citrix remove the Program Neighbourhood option from the version 11 client, help is at hand. Citrix have released an add on for the later ICA clients that allows you to connect to specific Citrix Terminal Servers;

I don't know about you but one of the issues with the removal of the PN option from newer Citrix clients is the inability to target specific server desktops for troubleshooting without creating a published application for each one. This app allows you to enter direct server names or IP address's and launch ICA sessions, it even allows you to create ICA files too.

Cheers Citrix.

Citrix XenApp 6, HDX and Webcams

So today I was asked to configure a Logitech webcam running through a XenApp 6 system. A couple of points.

- Install only the webcam driver on the Citrix client.
- Unlike other USB peripherals, do not install the driver or client software on the server.

When you connect to the server in an ICA session, Citrix will passthrough all of the devices. Don't worry if you can't see the devices inn device manager. HDX redirection creates it's own device on the Citrix server much like the recording and playback devices. These do not appear in the device manager but are available to all applications.
